Oncoplastic Procedures
Oncoplastic surgery is a relatively new surgical option for breast cancer patients. It combines removal of the cancerous tumor with breast reduction or a local tissue rearrangement all in one surgical procedure. Dr. Kim and Dr. Basu are available to work with many different breast surgeons to restore your breast immediately following lumpectomy all in one surgery.
Plastic surgical techniques are used to reshape the remaining breast or reconstruct the breast after appropriate excision of breast cancer. It also includes the correction of imbalance relative to the natural unaffected breast.
Surgical techniques are used to remove segments of malignant breast tissue to achieve wide surgical margins while the remaining glandular tissue is transposed to achieve the best possible cosmetic outcome.
